How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
Writing in the urban fiction genre is different because it doesn’t paint a pretty picture of life. It gives readers a real taste of what living in the inner city is like. However, if told well it can also show readers both new and old that their is a true story to be told and life lessons anyone who reads can learn.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
My advice is to think of your writing as a business. Writing is only the pre-planning stage of your business if you will. However, the final stage is marketing and promoting so you must be prepared. Learn as much as you can and save up during the writing stage so you are ready to spread the word quickly.
Author Bio:
K.C Blaze also known as K.C Baylor is the author of three books including the urban fiction book Platinum Dust (Part-One) She has marked her entrance into the literary world with her award-winning site Urban Fiction News magazine. With a degree in Psychology and her love of the written word she has always known she wanted to write books that not only inspired but took her readers on a mental journey unlike any they’ve been on before.
Not only does she write urban books that read like movies but she also writes how-to guides and non-fiction titles as well. She wishes that her works provoke all readers to leave a review which the only way an author knows they have connected to their audience!
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I wanted to depict an urban tale that wasn’t all drama with no substance. It is a gritty tale but it has a purpose and it is told with a back story readers will enjoy.
