Granada, Spain. When human remains are found close to a little mountain village, Inspector Moreno’s investigations uncover a dangerous world of gangsters, prostitutes and eccentric British expats. Solving crime in the height of the Andalusian Summer is thirsty work, but Moreno is seldom far from a glass of something cold – and of course, a delicious tapa to go with it.

My book is black-comedy crime. It’s a thriller, but the interest is as much in the characters and setting as the plot. Although having said that, the plot is quite fun……
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Don’t wait until you think you have enough time, because you never will. Devote a manageable number of hours every day to writing – I think two is enough – and keep at it, regardless of what else you have to do, to earn a living or whatever. Try to keep your head in the world of the novel, as otherwise there is a danger you’ll put it to one side and never finish it.
Author Bio:
I was born and brought up in Chester, in the North of England, and went to university in the South, where I studied English. After a couple of years as a theatre stagehand, I found myself working in ad agencies, without any clear career plan. Over twenty-five years or so I wrote ads and commercials for cars, banks, whisky, paint and pretty much everything else. Now I live in Scotland and I’m still writing copy, although now I’m freelance and work for a number of different agencies and direct clients. About seven years ago I acquired a ruined village house in Spain and restored it as a second home – it’s in the Alpujarra mountains of Granada province, and it’s where I set my novel.
I’m a full-time, professional writer, but most of what I do is advertising copy, websites, brochures, and a little journalism. I always felt like I could write a novel, but never got round to it, then one day I decided to sit down and devote some real time to fiction, almost so I could tick it off the list of things to do. Once committed to the project I loved it, and I’m quite happy with the result. I’m now working on my second book.
