What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was given a piece of artwork (the very one that appears on the cover of the novella) for my birthday and having a background in film, I started to think of a fun 70s creature feature story in my head. Due to the pandemic and budgetary reasons, the story turned from a script to a novella.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The prologue for the novella was inspired by some real events in my friend's life. With that in mind, I designed the character of Jacob. His friend group manifested around him, taking bits and pieces of my own friends from high school. By the end of the story, they became the most relatable and realistic characters I have written to date.
