Author Bio:
Don Wooldridge, born and raised in Davenport, Iowa, lived in the Mississippi River Valley for over 30 years. His life by the river involved boating, water skiing, duck hunting, and fishing.
Don is very grateful for the chance to live along the Mississippi river; to know the people of the small river communities; and to share their faith that the small town values and lifestyle will be everlasting.
Don spent 30 years in the technical training and development arena, where he was a technical writer, instructional designer, interactive learning systems designer and producer.
As an instructor Don taught “Classroom Instruction Techniques for Subject Matter Experts” throughout the US and Canada, as well as England, Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands.
Don earned a teaching degree from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, and a two year certificate in Golf Course Turf Management from Rutgers University in Brunswick, New Jersey.
Today, Don enjoys putting his voice to print, and using his writing as a vehicle for taking readers back to their own roots. The novel he writes are inspired by these roots; the poetry found on the site has become a “Family Affair,” with his poetry representing his father’s side of the family, and Don’s cousin, Don Zarley’s, poetry representing his mother’s family. Collectively, the family welcomes you and trust that you enjoy the prose.
A genuine desire to return readers to their roots. Our history should not be forgotten; it is the foundation of our future. As generations move forward, many of the legacies and stories somehow get forgotten and cultures are at risk of dying. In a troubled economy, people need to be aware of the power of two things: the sense of community and bartering. The Secrets of Clayton County is a Trilogy that takes readers through multiple generations – in a small rural Iowa town.
