What inspired you to write your memoir?
In June of 2014 I was on a mission trip with my newlywed wife to Sao Paulo Brazil. Having been a missionary for the last few years this seemed that it would be a normal trip for us. However the second night there I received a message that my apartment had been burglarized and everything was gone. They stole all our clothes furniture and even the washing machine… We had nothing left except the clothes we brought for our 15 day trip.
My wife grabbed me in desperation saying “What are we going to do now?” Together we began to pray and I felt that God was speaking to me to be grateful for the clothes that I still had and the abilities He had given me.
Reflecting on all the blessings I still had in my life I began to write my Christian testimony and it soon became a series on how God has always been there in my life even in the darkest of times.
About your Book:
Chris Buscher was a young man lost in drugs, violence and a life of crime.
Sexually abused at a young age, Buscher ended up turning to drugs to try and deal with the pain. He received no relief from his troubles, what he found was a down hill spiral that grew in to the darkness that he called his life. As he lay in a hospital bed dying, the holy spirit touched Buscher’s body and heart to help him heal and start life a new!
In the inspirational true story My Confession: Finding Myself at the Feet of Jesus, Buscher shares how he found salvation and freedom through the Christian Discipleship program: Teen Challenge. His book is a harrowing tale that serves as a shining example of how no one is ever too lost to be saved by the love of Jesus Christ.
Busher will share how just using one prayer of faith when you’re at your wits end will initiate the process of transformation in an unbelievable way. It’s never to late to change one’s life and live for Christ!
My Confession is one man’s way of sharing his struggles and redemption to help change dramatically the lives of others!
How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
The manuscript was originally something only for me until one of my Pastor friends in Brazil who heard my story requested to read it. He then convinced me to publish it through his traditional publishing company here in Brazil.
After the success of the launch of the first in the series I then got a little more courage to self-publish it in English through amazon. The rest is now history in the making
How do you see writing a Memoir as different from writing other genres of books?
For me this was the first I had written so I didn’t know any other way. However after writing a couple more books I can see a very clear difference. In my memoir it’s a painful process and very revealing.
