What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
When I was young I wanted to be a marriage counselor. Well that road wasn’t taken but it never stopped me from helping others. Writing is my passion. I figured why not combine the two things I love. A little help with a lot of mystery and drama to keep the reader firmly engaged.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Each character is a combination of personalities from actual people I know. I wanted the characters to truly show real life behavior. Carefully selecting the main characters was the hardest part of the process. I wanted them to reflect the people they reap resent but still remain respectfully mysterious.

Have you ever been in love with more than one person at once? I have, but unfortunately for me, the men who I happen to be in love with were unavailable married men. Michael, Sylas, Christopher, and Tyson were four very handsome men that secretly stole my heart, one right after the next.
As I sat in my office I started reminiscing about my past. In our senior year of high school, I was considered to be one of the boys. Being rough was my way of interacting with the opposite sex until something happened that one beautiful day in the summer! Tyson and I were outside on the basketball court as usual. After making his three point winning shot, I saw him taking off his wet muscle shirt. The sun shined off his beautiful body as the beads of sweat slowly rippled down his chest. It felt like I’ve died and gone to heaven. I never noticed how muscular he truly was. His lips looked plump and soft as he drank his cherry sports drink. I watched his Adam’s apple move up and down, with each gulp. It aroused me to see how enticing he made that drink look. He reminded me of a model off one of those sports drink commercials. He would brag that the cherry flavor gave him the strength of ten bulls. Well from the looks of his rippling muscles and sexy brown skin tone he was not lying.
Then there was Sylas with his pearly whites and cute little dimples. He prided himself on having the perfect smile. My world became much brighter one day as we were having a conversation. By coincidence we all went to the same college and financially I was strapped for cash. Fortunately for the guys they never had that problem. They weren’t necessarily trust fund babies but the cash flowed easily for them. Their parents had prestigious jobs made up of surgeons, lawyers, business owners, judges and film directors. The guys were fortunate, but I on the other hand came from a single parent home. My father died when I was three so my mother did her best to raise me, God rest her soul.
Shortly after my high school graduation, my mother passed away from breast cancer. Even though she was in a wheelchair she would not miss the opportunity of watching me walk across that stage. I promised her that I would finish college and make her proud. She said, “baby that’s great but I don’t want you being alone all your life. I may not be here to see my future grandchildren but I still would like to have them someday. Sweetheart, you need a man in your life.” I just smiled and agreed with her. She was my world, so when she passed it felt like my world came crumbling down. At the funeral home I sat alone in one of the back rooms to collect my thoughts. Sylas found me and gave me comfort as only a great friend could. Those big hazel eyes stared at me and I felt right at home. Holding me in a tight embrace, he looked me in the eyes and kissed my lips so firm and passionately. I don’t know if it was the initial shock of this quiet make our session or the fact that I was secretly in love with him, but my legs wobbled beneath me and gave out. As he helped me back up he giggled, apologized and said, “I thought you just needed that, but I didn’t know I was that powerful to make your legs buckle.” I gave him a nudge and smiled as we sat down allowing me to cry on his shoulder.
What I truly needed that day was someone to make me laugh. Someone who was generous and had the most sincere personality. Michael was the perfect man for that. He was a quirky kind of cute unlike Sylas or Tyson but he had the cutest laugh. He was thinly built but stronger than he looked. His eyes were truly the windows to his soul. The sweetest guy you would ever want to meet. Michael was the type of man that brightened your day no matter what the situation may be. He brought life and laughter to his surroundings. I remember when his older sister was admitted into the hospital. I rushed to his side to check on him, hoping to cheer him up and put a smile on his face. In the mist of us talking, I began to cry, feeling so emotional for his sister. He looked at me and said, “Now you know you truly care for someone when you can cry genuine tears over them. Damn, maybe I don’t care. Oh well let’s get some pizza.” When he got up and started walking with a pep in his step, I had to laugh at the fact that he lightened up the mood.
“I’m the one that’s supposed to cheer you up,” I said trying to catch my breath. He had such a perfectly gentle spirit and it made me feel so warm inside. Michael is the hopeless romantic type. When he’s really into someone, he likes to show off and make large examples of how he feels. Whoever he is with must be careful because he’s a comedian just as much as a romantic. Regardless he always showed his affection in different aspects of his relationship.
Last but not least was Christian, Chris for short. Now there is only one way to describe Chris, he is the Crème DE la Crème. Not only is he an extremely attractive man that knows how to dress, but he has the body and personality to match. Christian is Michael, Sylas, and Tyson combined. He was the epitome of all the girls high school crushes and some guys too. I use to watch him run up and down the varsity basketball court every single game. The guys use to think that I was a huge basketball fan, which there was some truth to that statement, but Chris was my reason for going outside in the freezing cold to the games. In my eyes he had the body of a Greek God, with a mocha latte complexion and a smile that makes me weak in the knees. Even the tone of his voice was like sex with a fine wine. One day he called me to hitch a ride to the game. The Mighty Cougars were going up against the Blood Hounds. Chris was our center, our team captain, and of course my crush so yes, I told him that I’ll pick him up. The night was cool but not cold for October. The wind blew gently outside as the leaves twirled in the street. Chris came out and it felt like the world moved in slow motion like he was in a movie as he walked towards my car. His hair was short and curly and he was wearing one of his white muscle shirts and gray sweat pants. When he got in the car, the aroma of his cologne hit me so hard that I could have bathed in his scent. “Don’t drive too fast and crash. I can’t afford to mess up this body,” he said as he checked himself out in the mirror. I just giggled thinking to myself, I would never harm a body as yummy as his is.
After our first four years of college, the fellas and I went our separate ways but still kept in contact with each other periodically. Michael became an elementary school teacher which I expected from him. He was always great with children. Tyson became an officer, as shocking as it may seem, but he does have the body to man handle someone. Sylas became a contractor with a prestigious company, William & William Inc. He is working on branching off to start his own company. Last but not least is Christian. That sexy specimen of a man became a partner at Luxemburg & Wagner law firm. He has become one of the greatest prosecuting attorney’s on the east coast. As for me, I am the most recommended couple’s therapist on the eastern seaboard. I’ve even had couples come from the west coast for my help. Some of those high priced Hollywood couples who continue to have major issues would come to see me. Once a year I would invite the couples that I’m currently counseling and a few that I’ve counseled from the past to a special treat, a mini vacation if you may. A place where they can lay all their problems bare and feel free to work through issues. A place where anything goes to spice up your life. A beautiful place in Bermuda which I like to call Marriage Island.
