When Gretchen finds herself flung off the corporate ladder she decides to relocate to an adjoining rural county. There she finds employment with a wealthy older woman and a home in the guest house.
Her plan is to live simply as she regains her footing and decides her future. But when her benefactress dies, suddenly Gretchen finds new friendships with hilarious women, unexpected beaus, and a true calling in a crime scene cleanup business.
When a serial killer starts to drop in the locals, Gretchen finds her hands full with new murder scenes to clean. On top of everything, her companion Mosey, a retired cadaver dog has begun to sniff out something oddly close to home. As the bodies begin to mount up, Gretchen soon realizes the killer has a type… and it fits her perfectly.

How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
My books are most often compared to Janet Evanovich, which is flattering, but I would say that Gretchen Gallen is a bit more complex with a darker history. She refuses to let her past become her identity, which is something I can relate to. While this is a series, the best review I have gotten so far (other than “I was howling on the floor”) says it is still unexpected and more layered.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Make yourself write every day. Even if it is complete trash and you know it, develop that discipline. You may write for 22 hours and end up with only one page after your edits, but that may be a stellar page.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Mysteries and humor are a favorite combination, my Facebook followers asked me why I wasn’t writing a book yet, so I began this series as an escape from my career and I frankly love to share my sense of humor! My father was a great inspiration.
About the Author:
I’m a southerner, living on a lovely pond in Weddington NC. I have degrees in English Lit and Psychology. Many of Gretchen’s darker experiences are similar to my own but I too refuse to let them become my identity. I find humor in some of the darkest places–as does Gretchen.
