Lola Page has eventually got herself the perfect ending to a romantic storyline that most people would die for; a beautiful home, a thriving business, and a sexy man under her duvet.
But the trouble with perfection is there’s only one way to go from there, and Lola’s life rapidly falls to pieces around her, with the appearance of a business rival, determined to ruin her and her brother, Alex, turning up on her doorstep and determined not to leave. Added to that is her shrew of a mother who always has Alex’s interests at heart, Lola doesn’t know where to turn for support.
But at least she still has the sexy man under her duvet, right?

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
After writing Lola’s House I was left with a feeling that Lola had more to give, so the next step was to carry on with Lola’s Vintage Shop.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The characters develop themselves and some of them even turn up without me knowing about it.

I open the door and Lucy sails straight past me, ear phones firmly in place, sunglasses sitting on top of her mane of hair and expensive carriers hanging from her arm, but not a word to me in acknowledgment.
‘Hi, Lucy,’ I say, forcing her to speak whether she wants to or not, I mean it won’t kill her to be civil, she is living rent free in my house after all.
‘Oh hi,’ she says, her face forcing itself into a smile, as if I’m something distasteful to her.
‘Just finished work have you?’ I ask, trying to prolong the conversation. I must say she’s looking very nice, dressed in a silk raspberry coloured shift dress, slim fitting and to the knee, together with black stilettos. Probably a little bit too dressed up for work I would have thought.
‘I had the afternoon off to go shopping with a friend,’ she says, almost reluctantly.
My eyes can’t keep from straying to the stitching on the neck of the dress, the darting at the bust, the lustre of the fabric and the wide belt that cinching in her tiny middle. It all seems so familiar and my eyes widen in horror as I realise why. It’s my bloody dress.
Her face falls as she notices the change in my demeanour and she stalks off into the room she shares with Alex, but I swiftly follow her and push my way through the door.
‘Lucy, is that my dress?’ I ask, knowing without a doubt that it is.
She rolls her eyes. ‘It’s no big deal, you can have it back.’
‘It is a big deal, it’s my dress,’ I reply, feeling fury build up inside me. ‘Have you been going through my wardrobe?’
Alex appears from their bedroom, pushing his hand sleepily through his hair. ‘What’s going on?’
‘She’s throwing a fit because I borrowed her precious dress,’ she says, dismissively and flops down onto the sofa.
‘Without my permission,’ I say.
‘Have you been going through Lola’s things?’ Alex turns on her.
‘It’s no big deal, it’s just a fucking dress for god’s sake, she’s got loads of them.’ She puts her ear phones back in place and turns the volume up on her iphone.
‘For god’s sake, Alex, this is just too much and I’m not having it.’ I’m bunching my fists by my side as my anger increases.
Alex stalks across the room and pulls her ear phones out. ‘You’ve got no right to go in Lola’s room, Lucy, I think you owe her an apology.’
She glares at me, her eyes full of hatred. ‘Okay,’ she spits out.
‘Okay what?’ Alex has his hands on his hips.
‘I’m sorry,’ she says, and I can tell by the tone of her voice that she’s anything but sorry.
‘And I think you should return the dress and anything else you have borrowed, don’t you?’ Alex’s face is aflame with anger and embarrassment.
She stands up lifting her chin defiantly, chucks her phone on the sofa, unclasps the belt letting it drop to the floor and pulls the dress over her head, leaving her standing there showing off her magnificent figure in small black lacy underwear. Her smile is triumphant.
‘Satisfied,’ she hisses at me as she throws the dress in my direction.
‘Do you have anything else?’ Alex asks her.
She stalks into the bedroom and comes back with three more of my dresses, flinging them at me, before turning round and going back, slamming the door behind her.
Alex picks the clothes up off the floor. ‘I’m so sorry, Lola, I didn’t know she had been through your things.’
‘This is clearly not working out, Alex,’ I reply, taking the hangers from him. ‘You have to sort her out, I can’t do battle every time I come home.’
‘I know,’ he replies, pushing his hands through his hair again. ‘I’m at the end of my tether with her, Lola, but I love her.’
‘Well I tell you now, I don’t love her, and she’s done nothing to earn any kind of respect from me, quite the opposite in fact,’ I say, my eyes glaring into him. ‘Make sure she doesn’t go in my room again or she’s out for good.’
