What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
The song by Imagine Dragons: Demons. The lyrics say, “don’t look too close, it’s dark inside”, and I realized this would be the premise for my new book, Lethal Affair, about a man challenged by his inner demons.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I want my readers to relate to my characters as though they know them, with real life emotions, reactions, desires and wishes. Although they are all fictitious, they could be anyone living in your town or city, with problems and challenges similar to just about anyone’s. They laugh, they poke fun at one another, they cry and commiserate with one another. My villain’s dilemma is molded by his circumstances, making him relatable as well. There’s true human emotion flowing between the pages.

It struck him right off that she was tragically beautiful. Oval face, exotic features of dark brows and lashes over slanted violet eyes filled with some kind of preoccupation. White blonde hair and a generous mouth, skin glowing in the afternoon’s dappled sunlight. She wore a simple t-shirt over jean shorts and low open sandals on her slim feet, and seemed utterly unaware of the impact she’d made just by walking into his space. He glimpsed nerves and a trace of defensiveness that prodded at his innate protective nature.
About the Author:
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest but migrated to a warmer climate in the tropics to raise my family. The kids have flown the coop so now I divide my time between penning novels (more to come!) and caring for my six rescue dogs and cats. Although I’m passionate about the entire writing process, I’m also a creative painter in oils. My love of the frozen north is still intact; my Lethal Romantic Suspense Series takes place on Vancouver Island.
