What inspired you to write your book?
It’s my hope that this book will help reduce “accidental” neglect of horses by teaching new or prospective horse owners how to care for their animal. So many times I’ve seen horses starving, even with plenty of food in front of them, because their owner wasn’t aware of the need to medicate for parasites. Or seen horses with horribly overgrown feet, because their human didn’t know that they need regular trimming. Or horses who have died from ilnesses that could have been prevented with a $20 vaccine!
About your Book:
Hay is for horses! Everyone knows that, but do you know how much hay a horse needs? Or how much water? Did you know that your horse can talk to you with his ears, or that he can sleep standing up?
Follow along with Athena the horse as she teaches you the basics of taking care of an equine pet. This easy-to-read guide focuses on the average horse and the average horse owner. From tips on keeping water thawed in winter weather tricks and other fun stuff you can do with your horse, you’ll learn everything you need to know to keep your pet healthy and happy. Keeping a backyard horse takes a little knowledge, but even if you’re on a budget, it can be done!
Book Genre: non-fiction, pets, horse care
What formats are your books in
Both eBook and Print
How do you see writing a book in the Pet Genre as different from writing other genres of books?
Even though you don’t have to be an “expert” with a bunch of letters behind your name, you can still write non-fiction in this genre as long as you make sure your information is accurate. If you don’t have true facts, someone’s going to catch you on it!
Advice to someone that is thinking about or currently working on a pet book

How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
A friend encouraged me to publish in print and for Kindle, so I published through CreateSpace and KDP.
