Why Did You Start a Book Blog?
I am a freelance book editor and I also work in book marketing with a lot of self-published authors. I realized how hard it can be for self-published authors to get the word out about their book and I wanted to be able to provide a platform for many to have their books reviewed. I also wanted to be able to share all the information I have learned along the way, and feature other writers with their advice as well.
What Kinds of Books do You Review?
All kinds! However, sci-fi, fantasy, and children’s books are a stretch for me – if the description really catches my attention I am willing to try anything. The most enjoyable reads for me are romances, YA, New Adult, Memoir. I love strong characters.
What advice would you give new book bloggers?
Don’t over commit and make a review strategy! I was overwhelmed with reviews and wanted to say yes to all of them because I just want to help authors, but I’m realizing how quickly time flies and easy you can get backed up on review requests. Plus, then there is everything else you want to blog about!
