What inspired you to write your memoir?
I chose to write to book to heal from my past. After I finished it, I realized others could learn from my mistakes and choose to make better choices.
About your Book:
Life couldn’t be sweeter for ten year old Sasha… Sasha lives the good life and is the darling of her fifth grade class. Suddenly, her father loses his job, sending Sasha and the rest of her family into a downward spiral filled with drugs, disappointment, and disaster. To cope, Sasha empowers herself by bullying her best friend whose kindness and empathy only enrage her more. Sasha’s struggle with life, school, and failed dreams takes its toll in bouts of rage enacted on anyone who gets in her way–even her sister. It isn’t until she commits the ultimate act of unmerited vengeance against her best friend that she learns the truth. Will it be too late for Sasha to make things right?
How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
I decided to self publish through Createspace. I invested a lot of time and money to create a book that was worthy of my pain and struggles.
How do you see writing a Memoir as different from writing other genres of books?
Memoirs come from your heart. You have to unlock your past and relive some very rough times. It was painful and liberating at the same time.
Sasha Dreams is a no one from nowhere pregnant with dreams. She dreams of hope, ambition, fulfillment and success. Sasha has learned from the mistakes of her childhood and transformed her weaknesses into strengths.
Sasha believes wholeheartedly that writing is healing. At times throughout her writing process it was painful, but now that the tears have dried and the past forgiven a horribly beautiful story has emerged. Follow Sasha on her journey as a writer, business woman, wife, daughter, sister, mother, and friend. Watch as her dreams come true.
