About Wayne Bartelt:
My name is Wayne Bartelt, a freelance writer with Master Degrees in History and Divinity and twenty one years in the preaching ministry. My writing credits include a weekly newspaper column, magazine articles, and three self- published books, Voices from Jesus’ Passion, and Talk to Me, God . . . I’m Confused, and What You Don’t Know About Joy. I am the author of What’s All This Noise About Joy and Laughing with Old Testament Heroes.
I publish a Christian Inspiration website/blog, An Abundance of Joy (http://anabundanceofjoy.com), every Monday morning, rain, shine, or foggy. Since retirement, I made the study of Jesus Christ’s life and humor the cornerstone of my writing activities.
I want my readers to have fun, get inspired, and laugh with me. Christianity is the only religion in this world where you can laugh and cry in the middle of the same sentence, and be serious about both. I think Jesus had a smile on his face most of the time, and he’s in charge here.
It’s just a rumor that my wife locks me in my study at 5 am every morning and releases me only for lunch, supper and bedtime. Wait . . . I hear a click in the door and it’s only 3:30 pm. The house must be on fire.
What inspires you to write?
Human beings have the opportunity to choose where they will spend eternity, ether in heaven or hell. The choice of hell is easy; you don’t do anything, just live the natural way, without God. without direction and without hope. I write to inspire people to take a look at the bible and see what God has to say about heaven, and how people can get there. He has already paved the way by sending his son into the world to suffer and die for the sins of the whole world, and the sins we commit daily. If people believe Jesus did this for them, God forgives their sins and they can live in and with Christ. I write to give people an opportunity to choose Christ.
Tell us about your writing process.
I write every day, a blog on Christian living to strike a word in people’s minds to help them make the right choices about where they will spend eternity, heaven or hell. I outline my thoughts into ideas, then chapters, and the chapters into books.
What advice would you give other writers?
keep writing, write every day.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I try to write articles in order to get publishers interested in my content and writing style.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
it seems to be following the erotic and space travel material. Fewer and fewer people buy religious books. However, ebooks are becoming more popular among Christians.
What genres do you write?: Christian Inspiration
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
