Official RWA member Violet Elizabeth Moon writes sweet and sexy romances. This lover of love was born and raised up North at the turn of the century and has adored writing from a young age. She is ecstatic to be breaking into the romance genre and hopes to bring smiles to her readers' faces.
Violet wishes to leave her readers feeling happy, confident, and unlimited. She strives to help her readers figure out what they want in relationships, and recognize what a healthy one looks like. She is passionate about advocating for the treatment of women's health issues and invisible illnesses and is intent on incorporating them in each of her books.
What inspires you to write?
My real-life romances inspire my writing. My current–and true–love has inspired me in a way no one ever has. He makes me feel like I can do anything and I just want to tell the world how in love with him I am and how amazing he is. The love between the characters in my books reflects that.

Sara Humphreys, Craig Butler, Maya Angelou, Helen Hoang, Alyssa Cole
Tell us about your writing process.
Ideas usually come to me in the form of images: an aesthetic, colors, setting, etc. From there I develop the plot and characters. During this, I jot down all my ideas and then start writing. I outline the rest as I go.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Yep! I listen to their desires, values, strengths, weaknesses, etc. It's all very fun 🙂
What advice would you give other writers?
Don't give up! Just keep writing, and enjoy what you do.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I didn't want to wait years to get a book deal; I have important things to say and I want to reach my readers directly. So, I published on my own.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Self-publishing is a more viable option than ever, particularly in romance! That being said, if you have the patience and determination necessary for traditional publishing and it's what you want to do, go for it!
