About V.J. LAO:
Victor John ''VeeJay'' Lao is an author from the Philippines. He has a degree in Psychology and a certification in Education. He is an active writer willing to share his ideas and knowledge through writing both fiction and non-fiction to inspire readers.
What inspires you to write?
Knowledge and learning something new to share is what inspires me to write and also expressing my feelings.
Tell us about your writing process.
I try to think first what to write by forming ideas in my imagination and then writing them down. I also have a planner with a use of a notebook so I write it down for future reference.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I try to predict what my characters would say depending on their mood and what they feel. Usually what reflects their personality.
What advice would you give other writers?
Keep on writing, correct practice does make perfect. Write because you love it and you enjoy it a lot, because it is really fun and a great way to express yourself and remove the burden of thoughts of thinking to much. Writing them down will relieve you and give you peace of mind.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to self-publish my book because I want my readers to get a hold of my writing as soon as possible. I want my book to be available to the readers.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think different book formats is a matter of preference just like in getting traditionally and self-published it is an option for the author in how they want their books to get to the hands of the public to make their work readily available to the readers.
What genres do you write?: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Middle Grade, Young Adult
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
