What inspires you to write?
I’ve always loved to read suspense novels and found what was available was much too graphic for my tastes. I decided to try my hand at it.
Tell us about your writing process.
I’m a seat-of-the-pants writer, although I usually have a good idea of the beginning and ending, then write to get the middle from point A to point B. I also have the main characters formed in my mind when I begin.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Not really. I do know them well and how they will react to a given situation.
What advice would you give other writers?
Learn the craft. Join a good critique group in the genre you write. Learn to take constructive criticism.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
My first two novels were published by a CBA publishing house. Later I decided to try my hand at Indie publishing and I haven’t looked back. I love the freedom of Indies.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Well as you mentioned, no one has a crystal ball, but I see more and more authors going Indie. I found it faster to get books into the hands of readers, and more profit as well as controlling the editing process.
