Hi, world of readers I am Tenisha Younger. I would like for you to know that I am in love with words. Since, I was 3 years old reading and writing broadened my imagination. My mother should have named me adventure. Climbing mountains allowed me to reach my goals and taking risks defines new opportunities . I am an avid traveler who has lived 9 lives. I am the main character of my life story. Being fearless allows me self freedom of choice. I use my ambition as a life map. Butterflies use their wings to fly. I consider myself as a vibrant butterfly who spreads her endless wings. Pictures are images that capture 1000 words. I co-own a photography company that conveys beautiful illusions. Carieo Crenshaw Photography is the cutting edge of magical vision. It is based out of Atlanta, GA. My southern roots are deeply rooted. The simplicity of the south displays my true essence of life. My Irish roots derived from my father makes me rich in diversity. I love dolphins because they are cute, articulate and happy.
What inspires you to write?
What inspires me to write are the people who I wrote about. I have a friend/mentor who is a warrior. Her name is Vicki Bradley and she is a second time Cancer hero. Her resilience motivates me. I am inspired by my siblings,grandmother, mother and other note worthy individuals. My background is artistic. I am an author and an artist manager. I was inspired to pen some of my experiences as playing dual roles. My book comes out in 2016 and it is definitely a must read.
Tell us about your writing process.
I am an outliner and seat of the pants writer. My work is extremely well rounded. I travel with several journals and fill all of the pages. The name of my upcoming work of art is entitled, How To Be A Successful Woman In A Man’s World. This book was based upon being a woman in the entertainment industry. My job conducting business in the boardrooms of labels for composers and producers is rare for women. Each man in my life plays a specific part.I developed tougher skin and gained a higher respect in many ways. I decided to list some of my personal experiences with the men and women in this field. Some of these fascinating people are resturant owners, legal experts, film makers, political figures and numerous others. I discovered and pondered upon the highs and lows of this sector. My first client was Patrickguitarboy and he composes timeless pieces. The most important factor of his job is 90% business and 10% music. My writing process is basically being real. My characters are people who are fascinating to me. Women are the true epitome of strength. They are honored in this book. I aspire to inspire readers. Everyone has a journey. My chapters are still being written. It is exciting at times, even somewhat glamorous at others. At some points, my life is interesting and calm. The calmness is thought provoking. Being normal is boring to me. Any writer or non-writer must think outside of the box. Your literary process is whatever you want it to be. My advice is to draw an individual sketch of what you desire to become. I cannot be a you because I am a Me.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I can relate to some of my characters. Everyone in this book are from different walks of life. They are all joined by an inner circle. This book is based upon several perspectives. It provides hope,humor,strength,identity,rawness and agility. Some parts are indepth,up close and personal. During my literary process, I draw a mental caption of the subjects.There are never enough words to write down. The readers can definitely relate to my life and the lives of others documented.
What advice would you give other writers?
I acquired a great deal of knowledge throughout my writing journey. All writers must express their innermost selves. I listed original quotes and the quotes of others. I created poetry in certain parts. I listed self help advice and discussed how others impact lives. Being on musical tours consisted partially of my journey. That played a pivotal role in my compositions. I spent time is Las Vegas and that influenced some of my writings. I gave readers and writers certain fragments of myself. In many cases, that is hard to do. You must open up and let people in the door. Your words can possibly be a map for others to learn and follow. The people I met across the years highly influenced my work. Adversity is an eye opening gift. It helps you to reach the pinnacle of heights.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I strongly advise anyone to keep your options open. I decided to embark upon self publishing. Self publishing allows you to control your own creative and business destiny. In monetary terms, you reap the benefits of keeping a huge percentage of royalties. The world of royalties is very crucial and necessary. If you want the freedom of choice, self publishing is the answer. It does require alot more work and insight. You must be a resourceful individual. In the end,it is a rewarding,daunting task. The rewards and benefits are well worth the sacrifices.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Life is not a crystal ball,it is what you make it of it. Use your own imagination as a motivational tool. The future of publishing is online,on cell phones, mobile apps and in book stores. Society is tech savvy and trendy. As an author and reader, can’t cannot exist. Create your own crystal ball and live out your fantasy. Art is a universal platform.
