About Tareq AlSamhouri:
A poet, playwright and writer. I am an English literature graduate who has strong passion in poetry. I am a teacher educator and a linguist who adores teaching as much as writing. I enjoy walking, travelling and listening to music.
What inspires you to write?
Self-experience and the situations I fall into inspire me. In addition to reading many novels in different genres.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
I have plenty of novelists and poets. For poets, I enjoy reading to all the poets belonging to the Romantic Era in addition to Shakespeare and Emily Dickinson. For writers, I enjoy reading to Charles Dickens, Emily Bronte and others.
Tell us about your writing process.
My writing process differs from writing poetry to playwright, short story or educational topics. But mainly I write whenever an idea comes to my mind. Sometimes I might write two books at the same time.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I imagine them in front of me and I put myself in their shoes. This is exactly what I do now for my new short story, "Layla's Photo Album".
What advice would you give other writers?
Believe in yourself! Follow your passion and enjoy it.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
The idea has been there for quite some time. The right moment was when I felt that I need to challenge myself and do something I really enjoy and like.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
It is not about publishing as mush as it is about documentation.
What genres do you write?: Poetry, fantasy, adventure, mystery and education
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
