What inspires you to write?
Ideas, movies, dreams, and reading other books inspires me to write. My head is always filled with ideas for books, so I'm always inspired to write.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
I have tons of favorite authors and too many to have just 'favors'. I will speak about an author I have grown to love and finished four of his book recently. Harlan Coben. I am addicted to Coben's way of writing and his ability to hold my interest and finish all four of his books I've read.
Tell us about your writing process.
My writing process involves using my imagination. I'm more of an outliner. I gather my ideas and outline them to start my books. I'd say depending on what I'm writing such as fiction, nonfiction, or children books, because I write them all-I produce a special outline for each genre. Not all of my books require the same outline. No, I do not use Whiteboard, Software, or Sketches to process my writing, or create my characters.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
For fiction when I create my characters, I don't just CREATE them, I give them specific personalities, which I shift into. Do I talk to my characters? Of course, yes! I BECOME the characters I create. For example, I create a character named Sarah in a thriller book. Sarah is feisty, greedy, selfish, and conning. I become Sarah, the character I created, every time I write about her. I have the ability to switch characters' personality when I write about them.
What advice would you give other writers?
Advice I would give to other writers would be to follow their dreams if they want to become a writer. Read and research the book they plan to write, whether it's fiction or nonfiction. I feel all books require research and study. That's another one of my methods I use. I believe in spicing up my fiction books with a little nonfiction research. Don't give up! Criticism is sometimes a learning process and stepping stone toward becoming the best. Hard work and dedication also serves the purpose.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Support from friends and family and the will to accomplish any dream I hold in my heart. Becoming an author in 2015 was one of my dreams. With blood and sweat, I've come a long way and accomplished much, but I'm not done yet. In 2015 was the first time I published a book, which received harsh criticism. I unpublished the book because of this, but I came back bigger than ever!
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
The future of publishing is on the rise. I support and promote various authors and poets for the last ten years. In the last two years, I've encountered so many new authors and poets publishing their first book, or new books. I see a much promising future in the publishing and literature world. I'm so happy to be a part of it!
What genres do you write?: I'm a multi-genre writer.
What formats are your books in?: eBook, Print, Both eBook and Print
