What inspires you to write?
My wife.
Tell us about your writing process.
I’m a hybrid between an outliner and a pantser. Before I start writing a book I need a few different things. A plot, a couple interesting characters and an ending. If I have those three things, the rest is just filling in the blanks and editing.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
My characters run the show for my stories, most the time they behave, but sometimes I have to get involved and wrangle them back into line. I don’t talk to them, I’m just watching pretty much.
What advice would you give other writers?
Don’t stop, just keep writing.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I published my first book because I was looking to make money. I had worked on eBay some over the previous decade, but hated running out of inventory, so I published a book… Then I discovered that I could write fiction. That’s when I started to really enjoying writing. My advice to new authors would be try everything out and don’t let yourself ever stop learning.
