About Stacy Ulibarri:
Stacy Ulibarri was born in Fillmoore on All Hallows Eve. She has always had a talent for finding beauty in the darker side of life and has a love for all things horror and supernatural. This passion was the inspiration for her first title “Under Control” Book 1 in the Legion Trilogy.
What inspires you to write?
I heard someone say a long time ago to write about something you’re passionate about and that really stuck with me. I use my passion and combine that with my love for the darker side of things to find my inspiration.
Tell us about your writing process.
I do both I outline and fly by the seat of my pants. When I start a book I usually have a clear idea on how I want it to start and end. From there I just fill in the blanks. If I get an idea I usually add it to a notebook app on my phone because I always have that with me and you never know when inspiration will hit.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I usually put myself in the shoes of my main character and use them to talk to all the others. Sometimes I have really interesting conversations in my head 🙂
What advice would you give other writers?
Never give up. If this is something you are truly passionate about, write first and worry about the rest later.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I went with the self – publishing route after thoroughly researching all my options. I wanted to be in control of the publishing process and to be perfectly honest, writing a synopsis is my worst enemy. I would advise new authors to just make sure you research every option. You can’t really choose a wrong way if you know what you’re getting into.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the future looks bright. With the self – publishing becoming more available it gives authors a chance to become published much easier than before. Although with that options comes both the good and bad. If everyone is putting out there best work that’s all we can really ask for.
What genres do you write?: Young Adult
