Sherrie Sushko is the author of two books, Lost Love and Remain, and works in the patent legal field when not writing and reading. Sherrie currently resides in New Jersey with her husband, two sons, and two dogs, Libby and Louie.
What inspires you to write?
Life itself inspires me to write.
Tell us about your writing process.
Writing fiction for me starts with the spark of an idea that I give some thought to prior to writing. Once I start the process, I find that it’s better to write consistently to keep up with the flow of the story. I prefer to write either early morning or late at night when it’s more tranquil. I don’t believe in forcing myself to write when I’ve hit a block. Instead, I’ll work on some other aspect of the story, like reviewing what I’ve already written. This tends to help me to reconnect to the story and releases the block.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to self-publish because I liked the idea of handling the whole process. There are pros and cons to self-publishing and publishing with a publisher, depending on personal choice. I think that self-publishing is a great avenue for new authors, but it’s important to have a polished, finished product.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Hopefully, the future of book publishing continues to provide more opportunities for authors as well as quality books for readers.
