About Sharon:
I am retired after serving as a church secretary for 25+ years. I have served in the area of ministry with children and women. Presently, I work with elementary age girls at our local church. It wasn't until after retirement that I was encouraged to begin writing and it has been a growing experience with the desire of what I learn through God's Word, it can be used to help and disciple others. One of my favorite past times is gardening and one of my latest books stemmed from the years the Master Gardener taught me many things which applies to our life of being planted in His garden.
What inspires you to write?
The desire to see others grow in their relationship with God. To pass on the knowledge of what I learn from my personal time in God's Word which can spur them on to dig into the treasures that are found there as well.
Tell us about your writing process.
Generally, each of the books I have written have come as a result from my devotional time and the prompting I feel to put on paper what I feel has been spoken to me from my Heavenly Father.
It all goes on paper before I go to placing it within the computer. Once I type it in from my notes, it may then receive revisions as I read and re-read what has been written
What advice would you give other writers?
Follow what is in your heart and write it down. Listen to the advice of any mentors in your life.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Through someone who encouraged me to begin writing and submitting, I followed their lead in self-publishing. Another mentor author.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I hope it will always be a medium rather than just ebooks. Those are helpful when one is on the go, but there is something about having a book in hand and even being able to underline something that really speaks to you…to be able to go back over it again.
