About Shane Blackburn:
My name is Shane Blackburn. I am a new author that just wrote,edited and published my first book. While I am an author I am also studying for the CPA exam as well. My goal is to be a CPA tax accountant as well as an independent author. I want to be an author because I enjoy creating stories that are dark, eerie and also unique that keeps my reads interested. I plan to write and publish more books in the future as well.
What inspires you to write?
Many things inspired me to become a writer. My lover for movies and TV shows and their unique stories they told motivated me to create a story to call my own. Authors like Stephen King and Agatha Christie were also inspiring.
Tell us about your writing process.
I outline my story by forming a list divided into headings and subheadings that distinguish main points from supporting points. I build off the main points to put meat on the bones of the story. This also helps me break my story up into chapters. Once I complete my story I got back and edit my work correcting spelling, grammar and punctuation by using the software Grammarly.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I chose to use Amazon kindle direct publishing because it was convenient to me. I didn’t have the time to go to a publisher and have them tell me what to do. Not to mention Amazon KDP is fast, simple, user-friendly, and FREE.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think more and more authors are going to lean toward self publishing. Mostly because the author gets to decide when to publish the book and how to promote it. That and it is much simpler than the alternative.
