About Scott Wiegmann:
I retired from the FBI in 2010 after 27 years as a Special Agent. I continue to work as a polygraph examiner and investigator in South Florida and throughout the Caribbean. I live with my wife near Ft. Lauderdale. Florida and intend to continue writing.
What inspires you to write?
I put extra copies of my book in a drop-off library free sharing box. I love to see then disappear.
Tell us about your writing process.
It starts with an idea, then a lot of research to see if I can make it work. After the research is done, the book basically writes itself.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Talk and listen. I try out all my conversations and generally find them too stilted so I try to relax the wording. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
What advice would you give other writers?
Write about what interests you.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I was interviewed by another author in connection with a book he was writing. This inspired me to write my own.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I will continue to grow because of self-publishing until the self-publishers become overwhelmed and start to charge too much for the service.
What genres do you write?: Mystery and historical fiction
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
