About S J Morris:
I am a 7th generation Australian who has traveled widely. Some of the concepts in my book‘Alpha’ severely challenge traditional thinking and the authority of ‘the powers that be’.
Even though in Western Society we have freedom of speech, how free are we really to challenge the closely held beliefs of those in positions of power?
Alpha challenges the thinking of the churches, political leaders and company directors. Could there be any more powerful groups in society to challenge than these?
Hopefully Alpha will also challenge readers thinking, but in a positive way to help people see what is wrong and make them want do something to help humanity.
What inspires you to write?
Concern about where the world is heading and a need to do something positive about it.
Tell us about your writing process.
As a Management Consultant and company turnaround specialist for most of my life I am very experienced in writing company reports. These days I write instinctively but then go back over everything and edit. Sometimes i may have to edit many times.
I was hoping that in writing fiction first I could gain some following so I could launch my book ALPHA which is my real purpose. However I did not count on there being over 2.5 million e-books out there and the difficulties in getting through the clutter.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I have written both fiction ‘Finding Alice’ and non fiction ‘ALPHA’. I find writing fiction very enjoyable as I use the personalities of people I have known over the years and put them in different situations.
Writing ALPHA has been more of a research project.
What advice would you give other writers?
Be aware there are 2.5 million e-books out there and it is very difficult to get noticed.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I have self published as it is easiest and cheapest. I have sent my books to a number of publishers but no luck yet. From what I have read about other authors this is par for the course.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
It will probably get even more competitive in the future but e-books will continue to replace hard copy books.
What genres do you write?: erotic fiction with a message and non fiction about the future of the world
What formats are your books in?: eBook
