About Roxanne San Jose:
I am born in the Philippines but I resides now in Las Vegas, Nevada. I self-published my first book, Annagram, in 2015 about three countries fighting for an island.
What inspires you to write?
I was inspired to write by reading books because it make me thought, "What if I can write one"
Tell us about your writing process.
It started with my creativity, writing it in a paper, brainstorming then after writing it, I typed it to the computer, it went to the editor and I queried a publisher. After getting an acceptance letter from Avid Publishing LLC, they did the cover design and we edited my book together then it was released on April 2019.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Listen to my characters. I interacted with my character while I was writing by imaging how it felt to be her.
What advice would you give other writers?
Be creative and work hard
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to traditionally published my book because I cannot do it all alone. My advice to new authors, think where can they be comfortable and effective in their work. If they think traditional publishers will not accept their book then they can try self-published but make sure they are ready to do much work.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
For me, self-publishing is getting more popular because it saw some self-published authors alone and they are getting attention.
