Author Bio:
Robert Friedrich is an Author who writes in a multitude of styles which include Novella’s, Short Stories, Poetry and even Screenplays. His books are famous for taking an unconventional route through the darkest of places and emotions, and are generally driven by fast paced action and direct-from-heart dialogue. His current releases include: The Darkness Within: A Novella, Enlightened by Darkness Anthologies, The Book of Metal Lyrics and Seed of Evil, which is the first part of an entire up-coming Saga. Robert surprises his audience by how different, each of his book’s tone, message is and how they are visually descriptive. He also designs his own book covers and trailers.

What inspires you to write?
I find joy in writing and in the telling of stories that I want to tell. It’s also a way to express myself. We all seek that one thing we can do and find never-ending pleasure it in. This is me living my dream.
Tell us about your writing process.
Well for me, first comes the idea and once I have it (and I have many) I outline all of it in my head, from start to finish. Then I take notes, create chapter outlines by simple bullet-points and note specific names if needed and then I just write. When I have the inspiration and mood, I forget time and space. I can sit and write for hours – be it in early morning or late in the evening. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and write.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I put myself in their shoes and I try to imagine the way I would feel in that given situation. I may not talk to them, but they all have a little piece of me in them.
What advice would you give other writers?
Never give up and don’t take rejection badly. Just keep on going, keep on writing and you will break through the barriers.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I have self-published all of my work so far. I tried to look for traditional publishers and its something I believe we all do. But I decided to rather go my own way, and let them find me for the way my work really is, and not the other way around. Let them see themselves how the finished work can look and what more they can look forward to if they wish.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
We live in an Electronic age, sure a lot of publishers still prefer print editions sent to them as a submission, but this is shrinking quite quickly. With the internet, many barriers may now be passed more simpler and I believe that everyone will see that sooner or later. Sure, traditional print press is still as important, but thanks to e-books one can reach a much bigger audience and even acclaimed publishers know and tap into that. Future may be bright if take the right way.
