What inspires you to write?
I love to discover what is in my mind. I am amazed at the ideas that come to me, and love to find out what is happening to the people in my book. I love mysteries and trying to find out whodunit, and thought it would be fun to write in that genre. I also wanted to write a clean mystery that anyone could read.
Tell us about your writing process.
I am a seat of the pants (or as I call it – sweat of the pants) writer. I like to see where the book takes me.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
My characters certainly do take on a personality of their own. Sometimes, I want to have them do or say something, and I can almost feel them telling me no!
What advice would you give other writers?
I listen to them and try always to think what they would do in any given situation.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I just knew that I wanted to self-publish because I wanted to maintain control.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I definitely think people should self-publish. But they have to be willing to learn, and to invest in themselves and their marketing. It is one thing to write, another to market.
