About Patricia Egan:
Patricia Egan is shy until you get to know her, then she will talk your ear off. One hobby she loves to do with her children is nature photography. A mother of three spirited human children. She is a family person, who loves to learn about others lives through reading and conversation. Who is always there to lend an ear or shoulder. She is not perfect and doesn’t try to be.
Her goal is to start An Outsider’s Way website, for those who need to escape life for a while, or just to read the stories of others who have been through what they are going through. To show them they, too, can make it through. While giving them a place to share their stories through written expression.
What inspires you to write?
I write because it helps me express myself in a creative and therapeutic way. I love telling my story through written words. Creating a world my readers can relate to has always been my goal in writing.
Tell us about your writing process.
I am definitely a Pantser when it comes to writing. I always have a note book close by just in case a story comes to mind.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
While I write, I slowly become my character. I think of a conversation I would have in real life and use it as my starting point in my character's conversations with their friends.
What advice would you give other writers?
If you are interested in writing then grab your first notebook and favorite pen and just express yourself. It doesn't have to make sense or be good to start, that all comes with time. Just never give up, always believe you will bring your story to life.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I thought about self-publication, but then I chose to publish with a publisher. I wanted my story, I worked so long and hard on, to be handled with a knowledgeable hand and awesome team.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I hope book publishing always has a place in our ever growing world.
What genres do you write?: Magical Realism
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
