What inspires you to write?
All the people in the world that don’t have a platform to voice their opinion inspire me to write. The ability to have passion and purpose in a career is a blessing and priceless at the sometime. Writing gives me the mental ability to release my emotions and ideologies into words and testimony. Writing is a gift with fulfills my soul and helps me wake up everyday knowing I helped someone else better themselves.
Tell us about your writing process.
I would call my writing process a combo writing process. It all depends on the setting, my mood and how busy I am with working on new business development. The process is forever changing and involving to meet the demand of readers. I am more of a seat of the pants type writer who can write 15k-45k words per day.
What advice would you give other writers?
I would tell most writer to keep writing and when they hit a roadblock, enjoy it and keep thinking. We all hit mental roadblocks but the great ones hit these roadblocks and never stop thinking and creating. Believe in your work and you handwork will pay off. Stay focused.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to pursue the self-publishing route to help me engage with my readers during my presentation, conferences and speaking engagements. This helped me to get a better understanding of the publishing process and helped me prepared for my six books to follow in 2015. Going with a publisher or self-publishing is all dependent on the needs of the author, both have their pros and cons.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the future of publishing will change again with the evolution of ebook and audio being more accessible for readers. This is only the beginning of the technology that will change the landscape of publishing.
