Nicole Kauffman-Eglinger born in 1972 in Steubenville, Ohio. When I was seven moved with my family to Davie, Florida where I currently reside with my husband of 24 years. Have 4 grown sons and 3 cats. A published author loves reading and writing. Won Best Poems & Poet of 2012 and 2013. Was published in 3 compilations put out by Noble House.

What inspires you to write?
Actually, anything can inspire me to tap away on my laptop keyboard. It could be just soaking up the good energy around me. Traveling to another country can inspire me. A piece of music just about anything I interact with on a daily bases.
Tell us about your writing process.
Most of the time I’m a fly by the seat of your pants writer. Most days I go to my local coffee shop and absorb the energy around me. Sometimes I will write from home while playing native American flute/ Zen music!
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Sometimes I have been known to talk to my characters from time to time. Most of the time I let my story take on it’s own life. Or my characters are based on a person I know or perhaps a certain famous persons that inspires!
What advice would you give other writers?
Never let anyone tell you that you can’t do anything you dream of. Keep writing and never stop if you feel you need to make changes in your manuscript then do it also let your friends read your stories and let them be brutally honest with you. Constructive criticism can be a author’s best friend.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I wanted to keep creative control rights over my work. I didn’t want to hand it over to a publisher to do as I have seen them butcher some amazing stories. I get to keep more of my royalties when you publish traditionally everyone gets a cut making the author’s paycheck much smaller.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
As an author I believe book publishing has a bright future especially in self- publishing. Just think of the many amazing stories we would miss if people only published traditionally. Because some stories don’t fit into a nice pretty package.
