What inspires you to write?
A lot of things inspire me. Anything from reading books in that genre or watching medieval movies. What inspires me the most though is going to locations that remind me of medieval castles. That’s hard to find in Kentucky, but it does help.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
Joyce Carol Oates and Agatha Christie are some of my favorites. I also like to read a Stephen King novel every now and then.
Tell us about your writing process.
Normally, I’m a pants type writer, but with this book I very methodically planned it out with an outline since I had a lot of research to do.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I do listen to my characters! With this book, I listened to them differently though because these characters are real historical people and things were documented in history.
What advice would you give other writers?
The best advice I can give is to keep going and never give up. DO NOT listen to the voice in your head that keeps telling you that you’re not good enough or that you can’t do it.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I published my first two books traditionally, but this book, I self published.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
The future of publishing scares me, especially since AI technology has come along. AI could very easily put authors out of business with companies saving money opting for cheaper options instead of paying authors.
What genres do you write?: Historical Fiction
What formats are your books in?: eBook, Print
