What inspires you to write?
The passion to live and fulfill my purpose and destiny here on earth. The drive to live for legacies. I write to leave my footprint on the sands of time here on earth!
Tell us about your writing process.
It all depends on what I am writing at a given time. Sometimes I write as an outliner, especially when writing non-fiction. While writing fictions, I occasional write as a seat of the pants writer.
What advice would you give other writers?
The best of books are yet to be written in your chosen field. Every brand is unique and has special information to offer to the world. You need to start writing today. Whether you are a full time employee or entrepreneur, you can decide to write something every day by carving out a portion of your time. Life offers equal amount of time every day to everyone. We all have just 24 hours each day, and the way we use this equal resource is what makes the difference.
Book writing makes you a much better thinker. You have to put yourself into your readers’ shoes and question whether the information you are providing them is what they need to know.
You may have to start with writing and publishing regular blog posts or other content offering great advice and helpful information freely over a period of time before writing a full-length book. Creating content over time will help you to accumulate material necessary for your book.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I did not wait for eternity in getting a publisher to publish my book. I self-publish my book as an independent publisher.
I will advice new authors to also start self-publishing their books, especially when it is taking time to get a publisher to do it for them. It is what we call indie publishing. You may start by publishing your book as an e-book, and then later have it as a ‘brick and morter’ (hard copy) version. Even if you do not have capital to publish your book title by yourself, we have what we call Print-On-Demand (POD) publishing, whereby your book is handled by online printing companies who will handle the printing and distribution.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the future of book publishing is ‘e-books’, although traditional publishing won’t necessarily be totally eradicated. The mainstream of book publishing is eventually going to be ‘e-books’
