Author Bio:
52 year old, divorced, mother and grandmother. I write, read and watch television. I have had a poem published, and have just finished a chick lit book and I am looking for representation. I have a lovely little rescue dog named Sugar, who gives me my exercise on her walks. I am a huge fan of anything Supernatural or even slightly weird. I love Stephen King, Graham Masterton and Arthur C Clarke.
What inspires you to write?
My love of it and just wanting to share my imagination with others.
Tell us about your writing process.
I find my ideas come when I am lying in bed, then when I wake in the morning, I type my ideas up. I mess around with them until I am happy, but I do tend to go back and add new ideas weeks later.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Both! I talk to the characters as I write, but I also listen to them and will not send a character in a direction I don’t think they would take. I know that sounds strange, but the characters come to life and evolve as the story goes on.
What advice would you give other writers?
Never give up. Write about what interests you or things you love.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I self published this book on Amazon as the publishing house route seemed so confusing. I have sent my new book to literary agents and publishers, but if I get no joy, I would not hesitate to self publish on Amazon again. The whole publishing house, or literary agent process takes a long time and the obvious rejections make you doubt yourself, but they are not always right….take Harry Potter!
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I hope paper books will be here to stay, but I doubt it. We no longer have the space to keep books and not many can afford to buy them. I think eventually publishing will be digital in the majority.
What genres do you write?
Fantasy, chick lit, Poetry
What formats are your books in?
