What inspires you to write?
It is a reprieve for me. It makes me live I a different world where I dictate the rules and weave stories that I can connect to.
Tell us about your writing process.
I usually plan out my characters and based on them, I craft a story. My books are more character driven than story driven and I write books that have flawed characters. None of them are perfect and yet real. All of them are shades of grey.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Yes definitely. They are always in my head, ranting out their thoughts to me. No matter where I am and what I am doing, a part of my mind will always be preoccupied with drafting and visualizing new scenes.
What advice would you give other writers?
Write from your heart without fear of judgment. When you are proud of your book, it is the biggest achievement. As a reader you should love your book. Rest all is secondary.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I went ahead with self publishing since it was my first book. For debut authors, traditional ways of publishing can be demotivating. It’s better for them to self publish and put in the right energy and hard work in promoting the book.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think through amazon’s kdp and other self publishing sites, traditional publishing is going to be outdated and that’s a really good. It’s high time this industry gets a change.
