About Madhushree Das:
Madhushree Das is an intuitive versifier and artistic idealist. Empowering people through the magic of words is my mysticism. She loves the rainbow, sunshine, and poetry. She just recently a few years back started writing and has published two books of poetry. Her first book is "When the Mystic Meets a Starfish and my second book is "Caravan to the Cosmos ". Both books are enriched with poetic wordplay and pioneered by the interconnectedness of human emotions and nature's elicitations.
What inspires you to write?
The beauty of words and then the blending of that beauty of words into a life-giving line inspires me to write. It is having a call of the soul effect on me that at times writing itself inspires me to write.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
I have been influenced by the most celebrated writers like the Sufi scholar and mystic Rumi, Rabindranath Tagore, Charles Bukowski, Ted Hughes, Anne Sexton, Virginia Woolf, Emily Bronte, Kahlil Gibran, Agha Shahid Ali, and suchlike.
Tell us about your writing process.
My writing process is fairly simple and finely complex. I construct and destruct words around a solid thought and then sculpt the whole poem word by word, line by line, and sometimes stanza by stanza. Creative writing is how deliberately you write and rewrite the thoughts and then how decisively you arrange and rearrange the concepts and then, how delicately you refine them.
What advice would you give other writers?
Never tire yourself out of writing, learning as well as thinking.
Be consistent and persistent in recognising and rendering the artistic sense.
Be mindful and at the same time prompt in picking the hints and clues, truths and untruths.
Be ever present to beckon the guiding of the Universe.
Be relentless in pursuing the path that you can only plunge into, regardless of the reward.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided on a whim and have done all of a sudden. It was completely out of the picture " The publishing" factor at that moment and then somehow it seemed very necessary when I did publish my books. And I am glad that I took the call of my heart and tagged along my two books from a figment of imagination to a fruit of fruition.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
The future of publishing will be thriving if the publishing industry will conjure its attention towards publishing more and more quintessential and qualitative books.
