About M.L.Ruscsak:
Back in my 20's I have everything figured out. I had a career path and the schooling to proceed with my choice. But life has a funny way of changing even the best made plan. So at 28 after a medical emergency I was left with do nothing and live off of the system or learn what I could still achieve on my own. I have never been a quitter. True I may back off and rethink but I will not give up. Holding on to this core value I discovered my passion for writing . And my drive to see my words come to life. I'm right there at the tip where things are starting to get exciting so are you going to join me and sore to great heights?
What inspires you to write?
I don't know about you but I find watching the old things on T.v a bore. And I can only read the same thing for so long before my own creative side kicks in. So I started writing as something to do. Now It's a fire burning inside me that won't be put out.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
Anne Bishop is my favorite author in fiction. Now if I'm needing modivation and to get out of my head I'll switch over to Antonio T. Smith.
Tell us about your writing process.
I might have a little idea of what i want to write about. But in the end I just start writing. Call up a friend and ask hay what about this idea that I had… and depending on what it is we could three of us working on a project or I'll go off into my own little world.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
All characters talk. I could not write their story without listing to them. Of course there are the arugments that they end up winning on what they think they should be doing. But it's all part of building the world.
What advice would you give other writers?
Talking baout writing your story will not get it written. Write it. It does not matter if the first draft is horrble or not. It's a draft.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I started off self published in 2016. Transitioned to a small press publisher in 2017. Opened my own publishing house in 2019. Then I learned I needed help. So with the help of friends in the industry I took all of the authors who were with me in my small press company and we went to the tradional publishin g house of Trient Press. Yes, I will ask for help when it is called for it. And that is 100% ok.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Books and stories will always be around. If anything with this year (2020) being what it is… we have seen an increase in book sales.
What genres do you write?: fantasy mostly
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
