About Luiz Mauricio Matos dos Santos:
Born in São Paulo, Capital, always had a nice childhood, surrounded by toys and affection that every child needs. As a teenager I had my parties, but I've always been a fan of the motto,''health and judgment ''.I always fan of painting and I wrote from child. I've always liked to write and this book chronicles a legal season where many who have lived are nostalgic and others who heard would like to have been there. And I always painted from child beginning with small scrawls The world has changed a lot with the advent of technology, internet, computers, but there are things that have no price. Toys, children's games, fun teen who are no longer present today, except in the memories, files and objects stored but who deserve to be remembered. We live in the present and we look forward to the future, but we can't forget the beautiful lessons formerly. Never say past because years are only numbers and everything if you stop to analyze it seems like yesterday. This rule serves to all of yesterday and of today and those of tomorrow!
What inspires you to write?
In the 1990s and 2000s what inspired me were precisely the golden decades that were the 80s and 90s and all the magic that involved these golden decades. There was the Punk Paulistano movement that I was part of as well. And all in a very rich age in the arts, music, culture and sports.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
I read everything and everyone, not so much today because my life is so busy, but from 1984 to 2000 I read everything from history books, especially World War II, to Aghata Christie, so I built up my viewpoint.
I need to read everything, take out what interests me and discard the rest, even religion, the Bible, everything that transmits a message, whether in literature or in music, deserves to be beautiful or listened to, and thus control my viewpoint.
Tell us about your writing process.
In the 1990s and 2000s what inspired me were precisely the golden decades that were the 80s and 90s and the punk movement of São Paulo.Today what would inspire me would be life as a whole, my personal experience, love, women and the world out there.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I am them and they are me, I draw from the depths of my heart memories and words forgotten by time that must be memories to never forget, building a better present and glimpsing an extraordinary future.
What advice would you give other writers?
Read a lot and read everything from the Holy Bible to current stories and writers.it is necessary to leave aside precepts and prejudices.this exists when you do not know.enjoy what interests you and discard the rest and that way you will find your point of view.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I've always been discriminated against in all fields from love affairs to professional competitions because of my color, my origin, people think I'm of Indian descent, and it's impossible in the country I was born not to be one of the true owners of this land. Unfortunately we live in a world where those who are not WASP have to prove their efficiency all the time and as a popular saying in my country goes: kill a lion a day!
So I'm sorry but the world will have to swallow me up and I've decided that before I leave here for the better I will leave my legacy.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Modernity is good but everything that is too much has its pros and cons and unfortunately it is swallowing words and burying the intelligence of people in the world. The world needs to take a break and return to the time when people listened to each other and looked each other in the eye.I hope this applies to literature. Modernity has made people lazy and think that the solution to everything comes out of an Android. I am not against it but it is a prevailing philosophy that brings many benefits but also harms both psychologically and economically because it destroys jobs and minds.
