About Lucy Leroux:
Lucy Leroux chose love.
Lucy moved to France for a one-year research contract. Six months later she was living with a handsome Frenchman and six years later is happily married to him…and still in France.
When her last employment contract ended Lucy turned to writing. Frustrated by the lack of quality romance erotica she enjoyed reading she set out to create her own. Her stories feature heroines who are smart, brave, and resourceful. She enjoys writing men who are thoughtful and slightly obsessive alpha males.
Her ‘A Singular Obsession’ series is a combination of romance erotica and suspense that feature intertwining characters in their own stand-alone novels. Three are completed and additional four books are planned.
What inspires you to write?
Everything! Most people get earworms, I get storyworms. Inspiration comes from everywhere including TV, podcasts, other books, and my own overactive brain.
Tell us about your writing process.
I used to write a long summary/stream of consciousness detailing the events of my books but lately have started to plot a scene by scene outline using google docs. I don’t always stick to it super strictly!
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
It’s more like I pretend I’m them in certain scenes- usually conversations or confrontations.
What advice would you give other writers?
Write often, right now.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Though I’m making an effort to submit one of my series to publishers, for my romantic suspense I decided to self-publish. After finding a great editor, I just couldn’t wait anymore. I was too impatient to publish traditionally.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
People still love books so I’m hoping storefronts don’t go the way of the dinosaur. But I do believe most sales will be online.
