About Lisa Bien:
Motivational speaker, TV host and author Lisa Bien knows finding success in any area of life requires self-confidence and resilience.
Lisa brings her trademark energy and passion for storytelling to a more personal level regularly when she serves as keynote speaker, holds personal development workshops, and coaches business professionals one-on-one.
One of Lisa’s strongest assets is her ability to combine humor and raw honesty to connect with her audience. In both of her books, Life Happens: Bounce Back! and Divorce Happens: Bounce Back!, she shares numerous autobiographical accounts of key events in her life that led to the creation of her Bouncing Back strategy.
Lisa also hosts a television show in conjunction with Temple TV: BOUNC!NG BACK with Lisa Bien. On set, she holds interviews and discussions in a relaxed, open and candid style. With each show, she helps both the featured guest and the audience to confront whatever obstacles they may be facing and then to bounce back – personally or professionally – despite the intensity or depth of their struggles.
Along with her passion for helping others create positive momentum in their personal development, Lisa has the skill set and experience to assist them in their growth. Lisa holds a Master’s degree in Education and has been an adjunct professor at Temple University in Philadelphia for more than 10 years.
Her uniquely personal teaching style easily lends itself to either small groups or large crowds. Her core message – we can all overcome our challenges and love ourselves regardless of what happens to us – is universal and motivating.
Life happens and will continue to happen. If you are in need of a stimulus for self-transformation, join Lisa Bien, change your perspective, and bounce back.
What inspires you to write?
I am inspired by knowing my books and blogs help people. My daily inspiration comes from observing people and every day living. I am inspired by someone saying something to me, I will ponder that thought and write about it because I want to help people. My inspiration comes from within and my desire to help people.
Tell us about your writing process.
I have two different processes. If I am working on a book, I will first outline the book and then write at that moment what I am most interested in or feeling writing at the time. My books I always use an outline.
My blogs are a whole different story. For my blogs, I will write by the seat of my pants.
What advice would you give other writers?
Write, write and continue to write.
Never stop writing. If you enjoy it and you believe in your story or your purpose then never quit.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I did a tremendous amount of research. I self-published my first book. I went into debt so I could do it. I do not regret it for one second because after my publisher read my first book she then decided to pick me up.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the long term future will be all online and the authors will sell directly to the reader. Long time away, the consumer will download books – no hard copies.
