About Linda Heavner Gerald:
Linda Heavner Gerald has received much acclaim for her books. She has been writing for over seven years and has published eighteen novels. Her work includes all genres. Linda writes each day with the goal of publishing books of substance. She draws from her medical background to alert readers of current medical problems as well as providing inspiration through her many travels. Linda hopes to transport her readers from the safety of their home to places they may never discover. Her most important goal is to demonstrate that God loves all of us. Even though her characters create problems for themselves, she wittingly shows how God can extract us from the mess we make. In addition, she just received in August 2020 from Readers Favorites the Gold Medal for Dear John and the Bronze for her book, Perfect.
The Gulf of Mexico delights her as she shares her world with her husband, Buddy, of twenty-six years, and their yellow cat, Jackson Brownie Gerald.
What inspires you to write?
After a very long time of experiencing the same vision each night, she finally asked God if this was from Him or had she devised this. The answer was Betrayed in Beaufort. It took a long time for her to believe that she could actually write a book of substance. When her works began to sell, she realized that God had blessed her with a new gift.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
John Grisham, Mary Higgins Clark, and Nelson DeMille.

For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I listen to my characters. They become my friends. Often, if the book has touched me, it feels like saying goodbye to a good associate. There is sadness.
What advice would you give other writers?
Follow your heart. If you have an idea, don't feel intimidated. Sit down and write!
How did you decide how to publish your books?
The idea of self-publishing appeals to me. I don't want someone else to tell me that I need to rewrite a part of it. So, I guess I like the control of self-publishing.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
There are so many writers! It's becoming more difficult to sell books.
What genres do you write?: Mostly Mystery/Thriller and Romance but I write in all genres.
What formats are your books in?: eBook, Print, Both eBook and Print, Audiobook
