Recently, she was awarded One of 50 Writers You Should Be Reading by the public. She has also been a finalist in Novelunity, which represents writers from all over the world.
Although Linda currently enjoys a substantial reader base, it is her goal to reach more readers.
What inspires you to write?
My writing started as a vision. This occurred three years ago. Currently, with ten published novels, I believe that God inspired me to write. I give any credit of possessing a talent to him. He also inspires me with this gorgeous place that I live and the people who surround me.
Tell us about your writing process.
I write strictly by the seat of my pants. Occasionally, I sit down without knowing where I’m going or where I’ll end. Seldom, do I have a clue about the end. My favorite part is the beginning. The ability to create worlds out of ideas is such an inspiring event. Each time that I begin a new book, I am excited. By the end, I am sad to see these people leave my life. They become like good friends. Sitting down to write means that I am spending time with friends. It is sad to end a story because then they are gone from my life.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I always listen to them. They really create themselves. It is difficult for me to write fast enough to keep up with their ideas.
What advice would you give other writers?
Please, don’t you be intimidated. You remember that each of us started without really understanding the process. You will know if you possess talent enough to keep it going.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Originally, I dreamed of being picked up by one of the big companies. Now, with over eight million books listed on Amazon, this idea seems preposterous. In the beginning, I chose a company that did get my books out there. They did what they promised. Then, I found a smaller company. They also did exactly as promised. Now, I self-publish. The reason is that it gives me more control over when the book is released. I enjoy the process.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Everything is changing so quickly! In a few years, I believe that most of the publishers will be forced out of business. Self-publishing is the way of the future. The future will also see the end of large, local bookstores. Amazon is amazing.
What genres do you write?: Romantic/Suspense and two children books
