About Linda Drugan:
Linda Drugan, born in the early sixties, inspires to take readers back to a simpler time albeit a turbulent one for many. Born and raised in New England, some of her happiest memories are of being a small child and the circle of friends, family, and pets she shared that time with. A writer by hobby, Linda and her husband Greg, also immensely enjoy everything outdoors, escaping from reality at their log cabin in the great north woods of New Hampshire, their roadside vegetable stand, and spoiling their lab Mallory and grand dog Mandy. Her sons, the late Greg (Hans) and Neil hold a special place in her heart and are a constant reminder that life is as wonderful as the people who you chose to share your time and space with while on this journey.
What inspires you to write?
I am inspired by the happy memories of my past and the simple childhood I had growing up in New England.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
Jodi Picoult, John Grisham, Laura Moriarty.
Tell us about your writing process.
I write and voice record each chapter, listen, edit, repeat. Though I don’t have an outline written down, I do have one in my head. I build the story, as I go.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
My characters become part of me, as I write. I love bringing them to life. Some are based on people from my past. Other’s are inspired by just my imagination. I select character names from people I know or names I simply like.
What advice would you give other writers?
I try to enjoy the journey even more than the destination.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Self publishing is part two of the book writing process. I have a love/hate relationship with the marketing phase. But, I find great satisfaction in knowing I have control of my work.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I believe that the future of publishing is leaning towards indie. The internet with so many resources has made it possible for an individual to have control over the marketing of their own book.
What genres do you write?: Fiction
What formats are your books in?: eBook, Audiobook
