Author Bio:
Leona Bryant lives among rolling hills and beautiful valleys with her husband, two sons, and daughter. They also share their home with 2 cats, 4 dogs, and their barn space with Horses, Cows, Goats,Chickens and Llamas. Most of Leona’s time and energy is spent with her job as a Public High School Teacher, she writes when she can fit it in on weekends and breaks. I enjoy gardening, long walks on the beach and cooking for my family.
What inspires you to write?
It’s something I’ve done my whole life. Since my second grade teacher asked us to write a story about Winnie the Pooh. I don’t necessarily call it inspiration, just an innate need to create through writing.
Tell us about your writing process.
I am helter skelter when it comes to writing, exactly what I tell my students NOT to do. I just start writing, then I go back and fill in details and descriptions, I create a character chart, so I can keep track of who the characters are, who they’re connected to, and how long they’re going to stick around.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
There was never any option but self publishing for me. As a long time reader, I knew that I wanted to totally control how my book was presented. I also like the fact that I can lower the price for a day if I want to run a sale, and I don’t have to wonder if a publisher is doing everything they can for my book.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think it’s shifting to ebook, and print on demand. I don’t think that it will ever replace traditional book stores or libraries, but ebooks offer up a whole new world of books to discover.
