What inspires you to write?
As a young girl, I was extremely shy. I hardly spoke before age 6, not because I had few thoughts but because I was preoccupied taking in the world around me. I was a child of observation. Somewhere around the age of ten I began to write and poured all those pent-up words onto paper. Writing isn’t something I just like to do, it’s something I have to do.
Tell us about your writing process.
My writing follows ritual. I sit down to my “eagle’s eye” work station, strategically placed in the upstairs hallway, overlooking every nook and cranny my children could occupy in our home, and I munch on dark chocolate while I write and they play. It’s noisy, it’s busy, and it’s real. But that’s life, right? Nothing will be perfect but you can still enjoy it, and I certainly do love my life! But, it’s not for everyone.
What advice would you give other writers?
Do it anyway. There are a million reasons not to write, ignore all of them.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I prefer KDP for self-publishing because it's a huge platform, user-friendly, and offers the greatest opportunity for financial return.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think ebooks and self-publishing are on the rise. It eliminates the middle-man and allows more people to explore the world of writing.
What genres do you write?: Non-fiction, Self Help, Humor
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
