What inspires you to write?
I enjoy writing. The art of creation inspires me to write in three different genres. I have learned that helping people solve issues such as business problems, or just relaxing with a good book, drives me.
Tell us about your writing process.
If non-fiction, I outline the book and then fill in the outline chapters starting with 1 and ending with the end of the book. I have it reviewed in a critic group, revise and then go through a formal review process. If my book is fiction, medical thriller, I describe the characters in great detail. Not only what they look like but what their hopes and dreams are. How do they relate to other people and conduct themselves in life? Who are they? After that, I do a brief outline of the book and I let my characters live their life through the pages I write.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
My characters live in my pages. They talk to me as I sit, sleep and daydream, describing their issues and life to me, moving me through their story.
What advice would you give other writers?
Read other works from authors that write in your genre. Learn how they write, why you consider them excellent and try to mimic them.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I like control of my books and eBooks so I self-publish. The ease of loading, printing and changing a book allows me the freedom I need.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the hard-copy book, although cherished by some, is rapidly being replaced by the eBook and POD industry. I view all kinds of people reading on their mobile devices and readers. We are moving to an almost complete mobile society.
