One look at Javon Rahman Bertrand and you immediately know that he is ordained and chosen of God for “such a time as this.” The Glory of God is swaddled around His son, Javon.
Javon is anointed and mantled by God to do assignments in the earth realm. He has been redeemed of God and called to the ministry. Watchman Bertrand was nurtured in true deliverance through Dr. Dora Scott. God is faithful and He sent many others to speak in and throughout Bertrand’s life.
In his short 27 years on this earthly assignment, Watchman Bertrand has suffered greatly and been through many obstacles. His testimony is truly a testament to his strength and faith. Bertrand was delivered and snatched out of homosexuality. Praise Jehovah for always keeping His Right Arm on His beloved son and bringing him through each and every one. Bertrand, immensely wise beyond his earthly age, has been blessed with the Wisdom of one of his forefathers, Solomon. He is a spiritual counselor and blessing to many of his brothers and sisters in Christ.
By the leading of the Holy Spirit, Watchman Bertrand has birthed and is in the process of birthing ministries that will bring healing to many people such as; Restoration of Love Ministries International, Restoration of Love Deliverance Center, Watchmen International School of the Prophets and The Watchmen Network. These ministries are apostolically and prophetically influenced and Spirit-led. The ministries birthed are mantled to bridge gaps, network other ministries and edify the entire Body of Christ while advancing the Kingdom of God.
What inspires you to write?
I am inspired by my love of words and my love to teach. I write knowing that words are powerful and can change lives. As a write I purpose to teach simplistically yet profoundly at the same time. As I write I desire that anyone can read my writings and understand it, even a little child.
Tell us about your writing process.
I have different writing processes. When writing poetry I just let my heart speak. When writing a book, I am usually in a lot of prayer and keeping music flowing. I try my best to remain organized but I write as I feel; meaning I can write a chapter at a time or write within different chapters during a particular writing session. I like writing at night and in the early morning. I tend to have paper with different notes on it . I write as I am inspired.
What advice would you give other writers?
Have fun! Never turn writing into a stressful event. As long as you are having fun that which you write will be enjoyed by others.
Remember, words give life. Write to empower, encourage and fortify your readers. Do not take lightly what you produce in the black and white.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I chose to work with a small publishing house and do publish on demand so i could be in control. I wanted to write what I felt was my best writing without being told how to write in my own voice. Yes, selling books is a target goal but overall I want to help people be better with spiritual principles. I am my own biggest seller, marketer and promotions team. It is a lot of work but the reviews and testimonials from people have read my books make it worth wild.
Advice to other others: Do not lose yourself in the process. Remain true to your convictions and standards. Whatever way you see fit to publish your book, let it be from you and you alone not a masquerading voice through you.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I believe book publishing is ALIVE and well. Yes, there are many platforms to make it happen today but it will remain a standard in our culture. Rather a paperback, hardbound or ebook, BOOKS ARE FOREVER!
