What inspires you to write?
What inspires me to write is the ability to bring stories to life. I strive to make my characters realistic and normal.
Tell us about your writing process.
No, I don’t outlined so I guess I am a seat of the pants writer. I can write at any moment of the day. I take notes when a inspiration hit me even in the middle of the night.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I would say I listen to my characters. When I begin writing I have an idea of where I want the story to go. But somehow it never ends up that way because when my characters start speaking and I have to go with their dialog which leads me.
What advice would you give other writers?
The advice I would give to writers is this is a long process. You can’t just throw a story together and expect great sales. Write because it is something you really want to do and your rewards will come.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
When I wrote my first novel I was a fish out of water. I didn’t know a thing about writing let alone publishing. So I made some serious mistakes when it came to publishing. To get my book out there I went with a publisher that wasn’t a good fit for me. So then I did self published and thankfully I was picked up by my publishing company Gstreet Chronicles which is taking me places I never imagined to be. So the best advice I can give to new authors is take your time. Do your research before signing with anyone.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think ebooks are taking over the publishing scene however printed books will never go out of style. I personally like to hold a book in my hand and flip through its pages and I am sure their are millions of people just like me. Also self publishing is leveling the field with traditional publishers. No longer does an author have to wait months or years to have their book published. So with that being said the future of book publishing is shinning bright.
What genres do you write?: I write in contemporary, romance, paranormal and suspense.
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
