What inspires you to write?
I am inspired to write because I sincerely and deeply realize and recognize how much I have to be grateful for. I have been married to the same man for almost 40 years, have a wonderful family, good health, and abundant education. I have, for the most part, always been an optimist, believing and expecting the best. No matter what life throws at you, being grateful is a necessary and vital part of finding fulfillment in life.
Tell us about your writing process.
I really just get inspired and start writing. I make my outline based on the letters in the words of the title and use this method, acrostic style. I use Microsoft Word or at times, just handwrite on paper. I am a non-fiction, self-help, inspirational writer.
What advice would you give other writers?
My advice is to just do it! Go for it! Try not to overthink it. Give yourself set times during the day or evening to write and don’t allow anything to distract you. Also, be confident and realize that you do have a skill and a message to give to others.
It may get hard and discouraging, but this is when you make a decision to persevere and see it through. What you start, you can finish.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to self-publish my books and start my own publishing company mainly because of the high prices of going through regular publishing presses. I also didn’t want the hassle of trying to get an agent, etc.
I would suggest to new authors to search out any and all publishing areas and avenues that seem a fit for you.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Not sure. Time will tell. It seems to be moving in a self-paced direction.
